ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 41 year old patient who underwent resection of a malignant melanoma in the
left buccal region reports about an increasing swelling in the left submandibular
region that occurred 2 weeks ago.
FINDINGS:
Bordering
on the submandibular
gland a
hypoechoic tumour with
an echofree
center is
visible. On the colour-encoded Dopplerīs sonogramm the tumour shows to be well
perfused. It borders at least on the submandibular gland, a border on the parenchyma
of the gland is not clearly definable.
DIAGNOSIS:
Because
of the anamnesis of a malignant melanoma in the patientīs clinical history
the patient is highly suspicious of suffering from a metastasis
of a malignant melanoma.
