ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A patient suffers from a very painful swelling in the area of the left mandibular
angle.
FINDINGS:
Between floor
of the mouth and submandibular
gland,
almost embedded in the glandīs parenchyma, an inhomogenous echoic tumour with
hypo- and hyperechoic shares is visible. It has an extent of 24 x 18 mm.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of suffering from an abscess
formation in
the region of the mandibular angle or the submandibular region. Further orosurgical
diagnostic measures are indicated.
