ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 69 year old patient suffers from a swelling in the left cervical region immediatly
after undergoing neck dissection.
FINDINGS:
In
the left cervical region alltogether softened
subcutaneous structures as
well as a softened structure of the sternocleidomastoid
muscle are
clearly visible. Underneath a hypoechoic
and diffusely bordered area with an extent of 23 x 18 mm is visualizable.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of suffering from a seroma after
neck dissection and postoperative lymphoedema of the surrounding tissue.
