CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with increasing pains on the right side of the lower jaw. Ulcerated area
with granulation tissue and consolidated tissue are visible and palpable on inspection.
FINDINGS:
The contrast-enhanced axial CT scan of the lower jaw (upper left image) demonstrates
a prominently contrast-enhancing mass
lesion around the right side of the lower jaw.
The CT scan at a more inferior position reveals a
pathologic
lymph node located anteriorly to the right submandibular gland (upper right
image).
The bony
erosion is well seen in the bony window image (lower image).
DIAGNOSIS:
Mandibular carcinoma with bony invasion.
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other malignant tumors of the mouth floor.
