CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
58-year-old patient with a painless but progressive swelling around the parotid
gland. Immobile nodule around the mastoid. Progressive paresis of the facial
nerve for one week.
FINDINGS:
The post-contrast T1 image demonstrates a hyperdense,
inhomogeneous, poorly circumscribed mass in the right parotid gland.
The coronal image clearly shows the dimensions of the tumor with
respect to the skull
base.
DIAGNOSIS:
Carcinoma of the parotid gland.
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other malignant mass lesions of the parotid gland.
