CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
41-year-old female with a progressive swelling in the right parotid gland, especially
increasing in the last months.
The examination revealed that the swelling is painless and the facial nerve is
not affected.
FINDINGS:
The T1 image demonstrates an inhomogeneous,
slightly poorly circumscribed mass lesion in the right
parotid gland.
The mass appears inhomogeneous,
cystic and hyperdense in the coronal
and T2 images. The mass appears inhomogeneous,
a bit poorly circumscribed in the axial and coronal images after contrast
administration.
DIAGNOSIS:
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other malignant tumors of the parotid gland.
