HISTORY
/ CLINIC:
57 years old patient with hemiplegia on the left side.
FINDINGS:
Plain
CCT (i.e.
without contrast administration).
Hyperdense
appearance of middle
cerebral artery. Hypodense appearance of the right basal
ganglia. Slightly
blurred outline of the cortex-medulla border on the right (in the supply
area of the middle cerebral artery).
DIAGNOSIS:
Hyperdense Media-sign
right side as
evidence of a fresh
thrombosis.
Fresh
infarct of the right middle cerebral artery (<12h) with a slight oedematous
swelling.
