CASE
HISTORY:
53-year-old
patient, unconscious
after a severe craniocerebral trauma.
FINDINGS:
The
unenhanced
control CT-scan (i.e.
without contrast administration)
after about a week shows: Right temporal
intracerebral
hyperdense (60-80HE) mass
with surrounding hypodense (20-30 HE) rim.
Asymmetric
appearance of the ventricular system. Displacement of the right temporal
lobe with flattened
gyri and sulci.
DIAGNOSIS:
Not quite fresh right-sided temporal contusion
hemorrhage. Perifocal
edema.
Mass
effect. Temporal cerebral
edema on the right.
