ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 55 year old patient reports about an occasionally occuring swelling in the
area of the left parotid gland. The symptoms started to occur 4 years ago.
FINDINGS:
The
parenchyma of the left parotid
gland seems
to be slightly softened. Starting from the parenchyma is in the hilum of the
gland a hypoechoic
band with
a width of 1,5 mm visible that seems to run above the masseter
muscle to
the distal margin on the sonogramm.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of suffering from a stenosis of
the duct of the parotid
gland.
