ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A patient who underwent superficial parotidectomy of the left gland 2 weeks ago
now shows a swelling of the left cheek.
FINDINGS:
Starting
from the residual parenchyma of the parotid
gland an
almost echofree
area is
visible that borders on the masseter
muscle and
the lower
jaw bone.
It continues into the subcutaneous tissue and reaches the sternocleidomastoid
muscle.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of having a salivary
cyst.
