ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A patient who underwent parotidectomy 2 years ago now reports about a pain of
unknown origin in the space of the left parotid gland.
FINDINGS:
Dorsal
of the lower
jaw bone there
are hypoechoic,
subcutaneous located structures visible.
Because of the parotidectomy no parenchyma is visualized.
The
mandible with its distal signal extinction is clearly recognizable. At the
dorsal margin the insertion of the sternocleidomastoid
muscle and in the depth the insertion of the digastric
muscle are visible.
DIAGNOSIS:
A normal
finding after
parotidectomy can be seen, there is no sign of a recidivation.
