ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 50 year old patient complains about recurrent swellings in the region of the
left submandibular gland that typically occur postprandial.
FINDINGS:
On
the floor of the mouth lying on the mylohyoid
muscle a
hyperechoic reflection with
clearly visible distal signal extinction is recognizeable. Lateral of the reflection
the hypoechoic changed submandibular
gland is
visible.
DIAGNOSIS:
The
patient suffers from a sialolithiasis of
the distal part of the left Wharton´s duct.
