ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 77 year old patient suffers from a painful, supraclavicularly located swelling.
It occurred 2 weeks ago and is growing. On palpation it is very tender and massively
reddened.
FINDINGS:
Located
cranially of the clavicle an echo-producing
pathological finding is
visible
that is almost reaching the muscle layer in the depth. Its borders on the surrounding
tissue as well as on the subcutaneous
fatty tissue are poorly defined.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient is suspected of having a phlegmon
of the neck.
