ANAMNESIS
                  / SYMPTOMS:
A 65 year old patient reports about a since 4 weeks existing swelling of the
right neck and increasing difficulties in swallowing. 
     
    
FINDINGS:
On
the left side of the neck a spherical, hypoechoic tumour with
distal signal amplification and an extent of 22 x 20 x 16 mm is visible at the
level of the venous angle that borders medial on the sternocleidomastoid
muscle. On the left neck a big,
partly inhomogenous echo-reflecting structure with a size of 4 x 5 cm is
recognizable that is infiltrating the sternocleidomastoid
muscle and is lying immediately on the internal
jugular vein.
    
    
    DIAGNOSIS:
    The patient
    is suspected of having a bilateral
    carcinomatosis of the neck with
    a carcinoma of the hypopharynx as the underlying disease.
