ANAMNESIS / SYMPTOMS:
A 32 year old patient reports about a not tender swelling above the thyroid cartilage.


FINDINGS:
On the longitudinal image cranial of the isthmus of the thyroid gland an echofree, sharply bordered tumour is recognizable. It is partial surrounded by thyroid-like tissue. A connection to the isthmus of the thyroid gland is visualizable as well.


DIAGNOSIS:
The patient is suspected of having a cyst of the thyroid gland.


DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Median cervical cyst
