ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 28 year old patient complains about a clearly palpable swelling in the left
lateral cervical region that occurred after a common cold two weeks ago. The
swelling is soft on palpation and not tender.
FINDINGS:
On
the longitudinal panorama ultrasound image a
hypoechoic tumour is
visible. It reaches from the caudale
pole of the parotid gland to the middle
of the neck.
The tumour is compressible with the transducer.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient is suspected of having a lateral
cervical cyst.
