ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 40 year old patient sees the doctor because of a growing tumour in the midth
of the neck that is accompanied with increasing hoaresness and shortness of breath.
FINDINGS:
On
the cross-sectional image of the right neck an almost echofree, well definable tumour with
distal signal amplification is visible between larynx and sternocleidomastoid
muscle. The tumour borders immediately on the thyroid
cartilage. In the endolaryngeal
region echofree parts are visible that highly probable correspond to the
visible vaults in the area of the vestibular folds.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient is suspected of having a combined
intra- and extralaryngeal laryngocele.
