CASE HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with excessive cigarette and alcohol consumption. Appearance of an ulcerated area in the anterior portion of the mouth floor for several months. Ulceration is hard on palpation.


FINDINGS:
The T2-weighted image (upper left image) reveals a hyperintense mass in the anterior portion of the mouth floor. The mass borders on the lower jaw and exceeds the midline.
The mass is hypointense in the pre-contrast T2-weighted image (upper right picture) and appears hyperintense after contrast administration and fat saturation (lower picture).



DIAGNOSIS:
Carcinoma of the mouth floor.


DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other tumors of the mouth floor.
