CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with impaired left-sided nasal breathing
as well as recurring colds and rhinorrhea for months now.
FINDINGS:
Demonstration of a polypoid
swelling of the mucous membrane of the right maxillary sinus. The left
maxillary sinus is clear. The sphenoid sinus is considerably superimposed.
The right
frontal sinus is clear, almost
total loss of radiolucency on the left side. Slight deviation
of the septum to the right.
DIAGNOSIS:
Chronic maxillary and frontal sinusitis with polypoid swelling of the mucous
membrane.
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Acute sinusitis
