CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
58-year-old excessive consumer of alcohol and nicotin. Severe dysphagia for months.
FINDINGS:
Demonstration of a right-sided hypopharyngeal mass 2.0
x 2.0 cm in diameter and of density similar to muscle after
contrast application. Mass extends laterally to the sheath
of vessels and nerves on the right side and partially occludes the hypopharynx.
It extends ventrally almost
to the hyoid.
No evidence of invasion.
DIAGNOSIS:
Hypopharynx carcinoma
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other hypopharyngeal masses.
