CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
52-year-old patient with liver metastases. Patient has to undergo chemotherapie via a
central venous catheter. Upper inflow congestion for many weeks.
FINDINGS:
Filling
defect above the stretch of the superior vena cava occluded by thrombosis
resulting from the central
venous catheter. Collateral
circulation. Actual course
of the superior vena cava with origin of the anonymous veins.
DIAGNOSIS:
Total
thrombosis of the superior vena cava resulting from a central
venous catheter.
