CASE
HISTORY/CLINIC:
32-year-old female with relapsing-remitting
Ataxia occuring in batches.
FINDINGS:
Two elongated, poorly circumscribed inhomogeneous hyperintense intramedullar
lesions in the medulla
oblongata and in the upper part of the cervical
marrow are seen on T2-w.
Lesions appear hypointense on
T1-w and show peripheral
rim enhancement after contrast administration.
DIAGNOSIS:
Acute
demyelination in a case of disseminated encephalitis
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
ADEM
Sarkoidosis
Astrozytoma
Ependymoma
Metastases
