CASE
HISTORY/CLINIC:
49-year-old patient with motoric dysfunctions and neurological deficits.
FINDINGS:
Intramedullar elongated mass lesion can be seen in the cervical spinal cord (level:
C2-C4) with signal
that is isointense to spinal cord (solid tumor components) and small
central fluid-
isotense areas (cystic tumor components).
The tumor shows a homogeneous contrast
enhancement on the postcontrast T1-w image. The cystic portions donot enhance.
Evidence of homogeneous liquor-isotense
areas above and below the tumor
DIAGNOSIS:
Intramedular astrozytoma with syringohydromyelia
DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Ependymoma
Hemangioblastoma
