CASE
HISTORY/CLINIC:
23-year-old patient with headache that has been increasing in intensity for a
number of days. Patient is somnolent.
FINDINGS:
Homogeneous
hypodense epidural and subdural collection with
prominent peripheral contrast
enhancement. no
contrast enhancement in the superior sagittal sinus on the sagittal
and coronal MPR.
Mucosal
swelling and collection with
air-fluid level in the paranasal sinuses.
DIAGNOSIS:
Epidural-
and subdural empyema with thrombosis
of the sagittal sinus caused by an acute as well as a chronic pansinusitis
