HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with high fever (39°C) and CRP > 300.
FINDINGS:
A case
of perforated
sigma diverticulitis (perforation of a hollow organ) resulting in free
air in the abdominal cavity and inflammation in the retroperitoneal space
(aerogenic bacteria) with consecutive accumulation
of air in the mediastinum and in the retroperitoneal space (not shown).
DIAGNOSIS:
Pneumoperitoneum, pneumomediastinum
