CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
67-year-old patient with severe pains in the left lower abdomen.
FINDINGS:
Abdominal CT scan with oral, rectal and i.v. contrast application and administration
of buscopan.
The
thick-walled sigmoid colon has a narrow
lumen despite the administration of a spasmolytic agent and shows multiple diverticles.
DIAGNOSIS:
Sigmoid
diverticulitis resulting from diverticulosis
