HISTORY / CLINIC:
54-year-old patient (smoker) - with sudden onset of very serious abdominal troubles
with guarding and rigidity of abdominal wall.
FINDINGS:
Contrast-filled
lumen of the abdominal aorta
with parietal
calcifications.
Collection
of blood in the wall of the abdominal aorta.
Left-sided retroperitoneal mass of
density similar to blood.
DIAGNOSIS:
Covered perforation
of the abdominal aorta with retroperitoneal
bleeding.
