CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with severe abdominal pains associated with guarding and rigidity of
the abdominal wall.
FINDINGS:
Air-fluid
level in the small intestine.
Perforation of a hollow organ with free
air in abdominal cavity, such as in the case of stomach perforation or perforation
of a duodenal ulcer.
DIAGNOSIS:
Paralytic
ileus of the small intestine and pneumoperitoneum.
