CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with
severe abdominal pains associated
with guarding and rigidity of the abdominal wall.
FINDINGS:
Suspicion of perforated hollow organ based on the presence of free
air.
Air-fluid-level
in the small intestine caused by paralytic ileus of the small intestine.
Transparent rings projecting to the small intestinal loops due to parietal
air in the wall of the small intestine.
DIAGNOSIS:
Intestinal
pneumatosis, paralytic
ileus of the small intestine, suspicion of perforated
hollow organ
