ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 19 year old patient shows a tumescence in the region of the left parotid gland.
It occurred some months ago and is at some times painful. The pain is not connected
to the ingestion of food. On an x-ray of the thorax bihilar lymph node hyperplasia
is visible.
FINDINGS:
The
right parotid
gland is
altered irregularly in its echogenity on the sonogramm. It is altogether hypoechoic
with hyperechoic shares. The gland is reduced in size. The masseter
muscle and the lower
jaw bone are
without pathological findings.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of suffering from a sarcoidosis of the right parotid
gland.
