ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 45 year old patient shows a bilateral swelling in the buccal region that is
slighly tender.
FINDINGS:
The parotid
gland of
the right side shows a homogenous echogenity. There is no sign of a hypoechoic
tumour in terms of an abscess or a retention of saliva. A missing definability
between the parenchyma of the parotid gland and the surrounding tissue especially
in the area of the retromandibular
space is
noticeable. The volume of the gland appears to be enlarged. The masseter
muscle and the mandible are
visualized.
DIAGNOSIS:
The
patient suffers from a sialadenosis of the parotid gland.
