ANAMNESIS / SYMPTOMS:
A patient suffers from a recurrent swelling in the area of the left parotid gland for more than ten years. At the time of examination the patient is without symptoms.


FINDINGS:
On the sonogramm an undefinable, inhomogenous hypo- and hyperechoic parenchyma is visualizable in the area of the left parotid gland. The mandible can be seen as well.


DIAGNOSIS:
The patient is suspected of suffering from a chronic inflammation of the left parotid gland.
