ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 56 year old patient reports about a foreign body sensation of the right side
when swalloing.
FINDINGS:
On
a transversal plane caudal of the hyoid bone there is in the area of the vallecula an
almost echofree
structure visualized
that has an extent of 11 x 10 mm and is located directly above the hyperechoic
reflection of the epiglottis.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of having a cyst in
the area of the right vallecula.
