ANAMNESIS
/ SYMPTOMS:
A 70 year old patient who underwent a laryngectomy 5 years ago now complains
about a for two weeks prevailing reddening and tumescence in the area of the
tracheostoma.
FINDINGS:
The
ultrasound image shows a subcutaneous located, hypoechoic tumour with
undefinable borders that diffusely infiltrates the surrounding tissue. The thyroid
cartilage is
visualized.
DIAGNOSIS:
The patient
is suspected of having a tumour
recurrence in
the area of the tracheostoma.
