CASE HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with skull reconstruction
after sustaining multiple fractures in a traffic accident. Complains of sudden onset of severe left frontal pains one week ago and doughy swelling on the left forehead that is very painful on palpation.

FINDINGS:
The axial CT scan at bony window (upper picture) demonstrates a homogeneously hypodense mass in the left frontal sinus. The mass extends into the left orbita and reaches the eye ball. No trace of the bony edge of the left frontal sinus ventrally and around the left orbita. The missing bony edge of the left orbita is better seen in the coronal image (below).

DIAGNOSIS:
Mucocele in the left frontal sinus that extends into the left orbita.

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other benign masses.
