CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with hearing impairment in the left ear for many years. Left-sided auricular
dysplasia and absence of the external auditory canal. No anatomical abnormality
on the left.
FINDINGS:
Demonstration of a normal
external auditory canal on the left. Demonstration of a bony
depression on the right instead of the external auditory canal.
The 3D-reconstruction images reveal an anatomically normal
external auditory canal on the left and an aplasia
of the external auditory canal on the right.
DIAGNOSIS:
Aplasia of the external auditory canal.
