CASE HISTORY / CLINIC:
46-year-old female with increasing hearing impairment in the right ear since her last pregnancy.
Lateralision to the right in Weber's test (negative on the right and positive on the left). Ear microscopy reveals an intact eardrum and very
red promontory. Renewed increase in hearing impairment for two weeks.


FINDINGS:
Demonstration of a lucency around the cochlea "double ring" sign.


DIAGNOSIS:
Cochlear otosclerosis


DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Inflammatory or tumorous osteolysis
