CASE HISTORY / CLINIC:
Patient with increasing sensorineural deafness in both ears, occasional dizziness coupled with unsteady gait and slight rotatory vertigo. Normal findings of ear microscopy.


FINDINGS:
The endolymphatic sac that is normally demonstrated as a thin line appears enlarged on both sides in the T2 image.

The CT image also depicts this well.
Besides the semicircular canals the cochlea and the dilated endolymphatic sac can be well visualized in the 3D MRT reconstruction image. The internal auditory canal and the cerebellopontine angle are also demonstrated.

DIAGNOSIS:
Vestibular Aqueduct syndrome

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS:
Other congenital malformation
