CASE
HISTORY / CLINIC:
55-year-old patient with severe abdominal pains, highly elevated amylase and
Lipase levels. History of alcohol abuse.
FINDINGS:
Dilated
pancreatic duct (due to a profound stenosis at the head of the pancreas
- not demonstrated). Not well-defined edematous
pancreas.
Diffuse
cystic structure, partially marginal and enhancing, and partially with densities
similar to blood. Fluid
collection.
DIAGNOSIS:
Acute hemorrhagic, necrotic pancreatitis with formation
of pseudocyst and fluid
collection in a known case of alcohol abuse.
